A: FAQ is an acronym for "frequently asked questions."

A:The typical piano lessons last 30 minutes and are conducted weekly. More advanced students can benefit from long lessons or greater frequency. The teacher will make recommendations regarding duration and frequency based on the student's level of proficiency and goals.

A:While the debate on electric versus acoustic will continue for a long time, it is absolutely acceptable to begin lessons on a quality instrument, whether it be electric or not. It is very helpful to have a well-tuned, fully-functioning instrument that is not a toy. Having sustain pedal capabilites as well as the ability to play loud and quiet based on keystroke velocity are also very important. Consult with the teacher BEFORE purchasing ANY instrument, to get complimentary advice on suiting the keyboard to the student and student goals.

A: A guideline for practice time is simply enough time to learn and complete assignments by the next lesson. Beginning students will accomplish this in about 10 - 20 minutes five times per week. More advanced student generally need to plan on daily practice lasting about the same amount of time of the weekly lesson (i.e. 30 minute lesson = about 30 minutes per day, 5 days a week).
A: Lessons are billed monthly based on a weekly tuition. There are 2 tuition rates. One for lessons conducted in the teacher's Richmond, CA studio location and one for lessons outside of the teacher's studio. Contact the teacher for current rates. Ask about promotional rates before December 2016 for best options!
